Then she bought a mini and learned X in no time. I found a B&W G3 for her and she adapted just fine. Her husband had a Quadra in the basement that she new how to use. I was helping a 70 year old lady with her PC and finally recommended a Mac. We are not talking about veterans who have been using Macs for years and might have a problem switching to X. In case you are concerned, a beige will run Panther flawlessly, just look at the number of people contributing here who run 10.3.x on beige G3's. However that would deprive your grandkids of access to some excellent kids sites, such as this Canadian site: Of course you have the option of no internet connection.
